antique percussion rifles
antique rifles?

I am doin research on a 1887 english percussion rifle
there is some sort of crown/crest on it. It has these readable letters tom r w next to it it says 44. the handle is solid wood any info on this would be appreciated as i am trying to find out where and what this rifle is and its worth

Most probably a Martini-Henry, which became the standard British military rifle in the 1880’s. Value is hard to determine, because there are many fakes on the market, most notably the “Khyber Pass Martinis” which were produced for years by small-time gunsmiths in Afghanistan. There are websites dedicated to these guns in much greater detail.
